Our Story

Built for the learner
no one was watching

Modevault Edu was born from a simple, urgent truth — South Africa's education system loses thousands of learners every year not because of a lack of talent, but because of a lack of visibility.

A gap too large to ignore

Modevault Edu was founded in 2024 by a team that had spent years watching South African schools fight with spreadsheets, paper registers and disconnected systems — while learners who needed help slipped through unnoticed.

The trigger was a simple question: if a learner's marks drop every term, why does no one get alerted until it's too late? The answer, frustratingly, was that the tools didn't exist. Schools tracked attendance in one place, marks in another, and intervention notes — if they existed at all — in a teacher's notebook.

We set out to build the vault that ties it all together: one place where every piece of a learner's story lives, and where the right people can act on it before a small slip becomes a dropout.

2024
The idea takes shape
First conversations with school principals and HODs across Gauteng reveal a shared pain: no single system, no early warning, no joined-up picture of a learner's journey.
Early 2025
EduTrack goes live
The first school signs on. Learner records, mark sheets, intervention flags and staff management — all in one dashboard. The first early-warning flag fires within a week.
2025
The ecosystem expands
LearnVault Junior launches for primary school learners. The graduate talent pool and sponsor bridge are added — connecting the full arc from Grade 1 to the workplace.
2026
Scaling across 9 provinces
Modevault Edu begins province-wide rollout conversations. The vault now holds records for learners across multiple schools, with real-time dashboards for HODs, principals and district officials.
No learner should fall through the cracks just because the right person didn't have the right information at the right time.

Mission & Vision

Two commitments that shape every feature, every partnership and every line of code we write.

Our Mission
Ensure no learner goes unnoticed

To give every South African school — from a rural farm school in Limpopo to an urban secondary in Cape Town — the tools to see every learner clearly, act early, and document every intervention so that outcomes improve regardless of resources.

Our Vision
A South Africa where education data saves lives

We envision a country where a learner's early struggles are caught in Grade 4, not discovered in Grade 12 — where graduates are matched to sponsors based on merit and need, and where every rand invested in education can be traced to a real-world outcome.

Who we serve
Every role in the chain

Learners, teachers, HODs, principals, finance managers, district officials, graduates entering the workforce, and the sponsors who fund opportunity — Modevault Edu serves every stakeholder in South Africa's education ecosystem with purpose-built tools.

How we measure success
Outcomes, not activity

We don't count logins. We count flagged learners who received an intervention. We count graduates who found placement. We count schools where the drop-out rate fell year on year. That's what the vault is for.

The principles behind the platform

These aren't wall decorations — they're the decisions we make every time we choose what to build next.

01
Visibility first
You can't fix what you can't see. Every feature starts with the question: does this give the right person clearer sight of a learner's reality?
02
Action, not just data
A flag that isn't followed by a phone call is useless. We build workflows that move people from insight to intervention, not just dashboards to admire.
03
Context matters
South African schools are not all the same. A semi-rural school in the Eastern Cape has different constraints than a private school in Sandton. The vault must serve both.
04
Privacy by design
Learner records are sacred. POPIA compliance, 2FA, role-based access and full audit trails aren't add-ons — they are the product.
05
Trust through transparency
Schools share their most sensitive data with us. We earn that trust by being open about what we collect, why we collect it, and who can see it.
06
Long-term over short-term
Fixing South Africa's education gap isn't a one-year sprint. We build for the long arc — tools that grow with schools, data that compounds year on year.

Be part of the story

Whether you're a school ready to join the vault, a sponsor who wants to invest in outcomes, or a graduate looking for your next step — there's a place for you here.
